Site Hosting

Work is just about done on your web site, the demo site looks really good, and the last few changes to the site complete the site, and the budget is just going to match the project.

Then the site has to be moved to a hosting site, a cost which has not be taken into consideration.

Depending on the software used, this can be an easy job, or a very time consuming one depending on the framework.  Shared hosting starts at a very resonable price of $6.95 per month, to a dedicated server for around $300 a month.  Shared hosting is nice since the database is all setup, and with a few button clicks drupal or joomla can be setup.  They also have a nice Plesk or Webmin administration interface.

Another option is cloud computing.  This is where you can rent CPU time, using as little or as much as you need.  This site is hosted in Amazon's elastic cloud.  I have a more detailed writup on elastic computing here.
